# Create a Workflow

> Build and run your first Workflow

## Step 1: Open the Workflow Builder

1. Go to **Agents** in the left navigation sidebar.
2. Select **+ Create** on the top right of the screen.
3. In the dropdown menu, select **Workflows > + New Workflow**.

The Workflow Builder opens to a blank canvas.

## Step 2: Configure your inputs

Every Workflow begins with a **Start** block where you configure Workflow inputs. Inputs are the values you supply each time the Workflow runs: a keyword, a topic, a URL, and so on.

Select the **Start** block to open its settings. Add each input you need, give it a clear label (for example, `target_keyword` or `article_url`), choose a type (text, number, list, date range, and so on), and indicate whether it's required. These labels become the variable names you'll reference in later steps.

## Step 3: Build your pipeline

Add nodes by clicking **+** on the canvas or dragging nodes from the left sidebar. Each node has a settings panel that opens on the right: configure inputs, reference variables from earlier steps, and label the output so it's available to subsequent nodes.

Common starting patterns:

* [Visibility Score](/agents/workflows/nodes/data/visibility-score) node → [Prompt LLM](/agents/workflows/nodes/prompt-llm) (generate brief) → [Slack](/integrations/slack/connect-slack-to-profound) message
* Google Search node → [Prompt LLM](/agents/workflows/nodes/prompt-llm) (analyze results) → [Generate Article](/agents/workflows/nodes/content-creation/generate-article) → [WordPress](/integrations/wordpress/overview) (publish to website)

Add [Conditionals](/agents/how-tos/add-conditionals-to-workflows) to branch your workflow based on variable values. Add [Iterations](/agents/how-tos/add-iterations-to-workflows) to loop a sequence of steps over every item in a list.

## Step 4: Test, publish, and run

New Workflows start as drafts. Before publishing, run a test by supplying sample inputs. Each step's output will be visible so you can verify the pipeline behaves as expected.

When the Workflow is ready, click **Publish** to make it live. You can then run it manually, trigger it on a schedule, or supply a spreadsheet of inputs via [Sheets](/sheets/getting-started) to process multiple items at once.
