# Connect Microsoft Outlook to Profound

> Set up the Outlook integration for Profound Agents

This guide walks you through connecting your Outlook mailbox to Profound. Once connected, Profound Agents can send emails from your mailbox.

<Note>
  Profound connects to Microsoft services at the user level: each team member connects their own Microsoft account, and the Outlook node sends emails as that account. Profound doesn't read your mailbox.

## Before you start

You'll need:

* Microsoft account with an [Outlook](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/outlook/email-and-calendar-software-microsoft-outlook) mailbox
* [Profound](https://www.tryprofound.com/) account

## Setup guide

  <Step title="Connect Outlook" id="step-1">
    * In Profound, select your organization name in the top-left corner of the platform, then select **Settings**.
    * In the left sidebar, select **Integrations** under **Account**.
    * Search for **Outlook**, select it, then select **Add account**.
    * Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the mailbox your Agents should send emails from, and accept the permissions that Profound requests.

    If your account appears under **Connected accounts** with the **Personal** label, the connection was successful.

  <Step title="Verify the connection" id="step-2">
    To confirm that Agents can send emails from your mailbox, test the node in the Workflow builder:

    * In Profound, [create a new Agent](https://help.tryprofound.com/articles/2212787792-create-an-agent) and choose **Workflow builder**, or open an existing Agent draft.
    * Add the [**Outlook**](/integrations/microsoft-365/using-outlook-in-agents#outlook) node, then select your account under **Outlook Account**.
    * Enter your own address under **To**, and fill in **Subject** and **Body**.
    * Select **Test node** (the play <Icon icon="play" /> icon). The output reads `Message sent successfully.` and the email arrives in your inbox.

      Testing this node sends a real email. Confirm the recipients and the content before running it.

You can also connect Outlook directly in the Workflow builder. Add the Outlook node, open the **Outlook Account** dropdown in the node settings, and select **Add integration**.

## Revoking access

Revoke Profound's access to your mailbox anytime by selecting **Revoke** in the connected account's action (**...**) menu. Outlook nodes that use the connection stop working until you connect the account again.

Other Microsoft integrations with their own connections, such as Microsoft SharePoint, stay available to Agents.
