Dashboards read from your Profound categories, so set up your topics and prompts first. Learn more in How to create topics and prompts to track in Profound.

Setup steps

Step 1: Create a dashboard

In Profound, go to Dashboards in the left navigation bar under Analytics. When you create a new dashboard, Profound opens an Aim-first creation flow. Describe in the AI Marketer chat what you want to report on, and AI Marketer builds the dashboard and adds the visualizations for you. AI Marketer can query metrics across more than 25 categories, which helps when you need one dashboard that covers many categories. You can still choose the manual route. To create the dashboard manually:
  1. Select + Create new.
  2. Give the dashboard a clear name so stakeholders know what it shows, and add an optional description.

Step 2: Add visualizations

  1. Select + Add visualization and pick the metric, such as Visibility Score or Citation Share, from the Visualization dropdown.
  2. Toggle between Chart and Table to choose how the visualization displays.
A dashboard isn’t limited to one category. Each visualization can read from its own category, so one dashboard can show different metrics for different categories, and a visualization can show a metric rolled up across several categories.

Step 3: Apply filters and save

Narrow the visualization with filters such as Topics, Regions, or Competitors, then select Save changes. Repeat for each visualization you want on your dashboard. When you’re ready to save your dashboard, select Save view on the top right of the screen. Your dashboard will appear on the Dashboards page.

Step 4: Set the date range and arrange the layout

Open the dashboard and use the filters at the top of the screen to set the date range and the time period it compares against. Your selection saves automatically and becomes the default everyone sees. To rearrange the layout, select Edit view, drag and drop your charts, and select Save changes when done.

Step 5: Share or export

Select Share to invite specific people to view the dashboard, open access to your entire organization, or allow anyone with the link to view. Select Export as PDF when you need a document instead of a live view.

Tips and best practices

  • Build one dashboard per audience. A regional lead, an executive, and a content team each read different metrics, and separate dashboards keep each view focused.
  • Name dashboards by audience and purpose. A clear name like “Hotels: brand visibility” prevents confusion as your dashboard list grows, and the optional description can record who the dashboard is for.
  • Use prompt tags to track a specific set of prompts. For example, tag the prompts your new content targets, then filter the dashboard by that tag to track visibility for just those prompts.
  • Set the date range before sharing a link. Link viewers see the range you set, so pick the window your stakeholders should look at.
  • Use AI Marketer to build faster. Describe the report you need in plain language, and AI Marketer creates the dashboard and adds the visualizations for you. Open an existing dashboard in an AI Marketer chat to ask questions about the data or add and rearrange charts.
