No. Profound Pixel measures AI-channel traffic broadly: it attributes conversions to paid OpenAI ads and to organic AI answer traffic, and it also records other acquisition channels, such as Google or Bing.
It’s a lightweight JavaScript tag, about 8KB compressed. It loads asynchronously and never blocks your page from rendering. Learn more in How the pixel script works.
Yes. The pixel ID identifies you, and it isn’t a secret or token. Profound protects it on its side: each pixel ID has a list of allowed domains, and events from other domains are not processed. Learn more in Your pixel ID.
Profound has protections in place if that happens:
  • The pixel identifies visitors by random IDs only.
  • In the browser, the pixel drops personal data keys, such as name or email, before sending the events.
  • On its servers, Profound drops a broader set of personal data keys and redacts values that look like personal data.
However, even with those protections in place, don’t send personal data in events.Learn more in the Events reference.
Yes, running both pixels works today. Profound doesn’t forward conversions to OpenAI, so conversions are not counted twice. If you’d rather keep one pixel on your site, Profound Pixel can be set up to send your conversions to OpenAI for you. If you’d like that, speak to your Profound team. Learn more in Forwarding conversions to OpenAI.
Yes, a server-to-server integration is supported alongside the browser pixel. Speak to your Profound team about setting it up.
